Overview of Computer Science & Engineering

Computer Engineering involves the design and development of systems based on computers and complex digital logic devices. These systems find use in such diverse tasks as computation, communication, entertainment, information processing, artificial intelligence, and control. Computer engineers will be very much involved with the “Information Highway.” A computer engineer, equipped with a broad background in electrical engineering and computer science, will be entering an exciting and rapidly growing profession with unlimited opportunities in industry, government, and education. Many of our students have already participated in that world through internships. Some examples of internship placements are: Engineering Intern, AT &T Computer; Engineering Intern, IBM Corporation, Computer Engineering Intern, Computer Science Corporation; Computer Science Engineer Intern, Intel Corporation; and Engineering Technician, Mitre Corporation. Computer Engineering graduates are equipped for careers as engineers, electrical designers, electrical engineers, design and applications engineers, test engineers, power systems engineers, and product engineers. Career fields for computer engineers include computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, hardware design, software design, integrated circuit design.

Program Educational Objectives

  • PEO 1. To provide students good knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Technology as well as the logical base of Computer Science that will be useful in solving complex engineering problems and develop lifelong learning ability.
  • PEO 2. To impart knowledge with good understanding of fundamentals of all subjects of Computer Science and Engineering, so that students are able to analyse, design and implement new projects from various application domains using various modern engineering tools.
  • PEO 3. To develop excellent logical thinking & programming skills to enable students to design, develop system and application level softwares within realistic constraints.
  • PEO 4. To make students good human beings who will have sense of social responsibility and respect over society & its heritage by creating good social environment for them as well as teach them professional and ethical standards.
  • PEO 5. To improve communication, presentation, team working skills and managerial skills leading to entrepreneurship and leadership.
  • PEO 6. To introduce students with new technology to meet the challenges of changing scenario in IT Sector and make them aware of contemporary issues at national and international level.

The Engineering College started in the year 2011 with five courses and intake of 300 students. In short span of just 1 year second shift Diploma College started with three courses and intake of 180 students. This is the first Engineering College in Barshi, which fulfills all the necessities of quality education. It may thus be seen that the College is steadily progressing and accomplishing its goals. The College is regularly overhauling and periodically replacing old/outdated equipment and modernizing its laboratories.

It’s refreshing to see that Computer Science & engineering department has brought out another edition of a Newsletter. These Newsletters help in showcasing various co- curricular and extra- curricular activities that the department is organizing each year dedicatedly. It also helps in building up teamwork which is vital in this world of competition. This year (2018-19) also the Mechanical Engineering department organized many Industrial visits to aid students from their study and knowledge point of view... It was genuinely inspiring to see the students and the teachers work in sync and execute such wonderful activities all year long. I wish them all the very best, my blessings are always with them! You are taught by well experienced and co-operative professors in a way you can understand the concept fully and quench your thirst for knowledge. Nurturing the student from the basic is the quality of the faculties. Industrial interaction, skill development, practical exposure are part of the regular curriculum. Library is equipped with well acclaimed books, international journals and also many self-help books which suffice every student's need. It provides you with good placement opportunities and builds you to face the real world. The infrastructure and facilities makes your stay even more worthwhile. This college has helped me to grow and identify my potential and interests.

  1. The institute has developed online archive through which students can access e-content posted by the concerned faculty.
  2. To understand and conceptualize the technical subjects, orchid makes teaching-learning process interesting as each classroom is a smart classroom. The complications of engineering concepts are simplified by showing videos, animations etc.
  3. The faculty members are actively involved in developing and collecting such videos and animations.
